I Like to Make Things

I have been a maker for as long as I can remember. From an early age, I’ve been drawn to creating with my hands, exploring a wide range of mediums including sculpting, woodworking, sewing, 3D design, and even cooking—each offering its own unique challenges and rewards.

My passion for model making was sparked at age nine when I saw Star Wars in theaters. In that moment, I became fascinated with the artistry of hard-surface model building used in special effects and knew I wanted to be part of that world. While growing up in a remote area of Nevada limited opportunities to pursue that path professionally, it never diminished my enthusiasm for the craft.

Over the years, I have continued to develop my skills in scale model scratch building, treating it as a serious and rewarding creative pursuit. I am particularly inspired by the gritty, industrial aesthetic of Kow Yokoyama’s Maschinen Krieger universe. I first encountered these distinctive models in a Texas hobby shop in the early 1990s, and they left a lasting impression on me. Later, discovering Brian Krueger’s website further deepened my appreciation and connection to the Ma.K. community.

As for the image on this page—it’s a bit of creative license. While it depicts me at work, the workshop and model were generated with AI after I failed to capture a photo I was happy with. That said, the AFS design shown is one I fully intend to bring to life in the future.

I’m always interested in talking to other scale modelers or fans of scale modeling. I do take commissions for projects I’m interested in.
